Even the finish on the outer shell is fantastic. Since we opted for the xl version of the force xt we experienced the luxury of maximum cargo space. The thule force xt roof box includes a clever opening system called the lockknob and the thule comfort key can be used on either side of the box. The convenient dual side access allows you to open the box from both the driver and passenger side which is a big bonus as it is not always practical to use one side of your car.

I avg about 78 mph and heard very little noise. Although it wasn t a leader in any of our rating metrics the thule force xt xl is a great cargo box that offers above average performance. The thule force xt sport is a good choice as an occasional roof box so for instance if you re likely to only need it a few times a year for holidays or trips away. We did though lose about 1 1 5 mpg in gas. It s sturdy and gave us plenty of space for our trip to florida. It has a sturdy construction sleek matte black finish and simple mounting system but lost some points for not having a handle and being slightly finicky to lock. All in all the design of this cargo carrier is really nice.

This system is easier to use with gloves on than previous locks thule has outfitted cargo carriers with. The motion xt was hands down the nicest box in our review.
