How to tile over brick fireplace.
The old brick fireplace had a few chunks of mortar missing as well as some chips taken out from removing the ugly peach tile.
Go over the entire area with a wire brush to dislodge any loose mortar then scrub off the soot with a rag soaked in white vinegar.
Choose from ceramic tile or natural stone tile like marble granite or slate.
Cover the hearth with a drop cloth and remove the mantel and anything else that s attached to the brick.
They come on mesh sheets that are about 10 x12.
I went with these 2 x4 venatino marble tiles.
